Francis X. Kelly Jr. is the Chairman and CEO of Kelly & Associates Insurance Group in Hunt Valley, MD. Kelly was a member of the Maryland Senate from 1979 to 1991, took a leading role in creating the University System of Maryland, privatizing the University of Maryland Hospital, as well as establishing the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. The prolific civic activist serves on numerous boards and commissions that are primarily focused on University and higher education matters, including: Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Community College of Baltimore County; Chairman of the Shock Trauma Board of Visitors; Member of the Board of Directors of the University of Maryland Medical System; and Vice Chairman, Morgan State University Board of Regents. He has also be named "Entrepreneur of the Year," Loyola College's Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society; named one of the top Irish Business Leaders in the United States; and is a member of the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame.
John Patterson is senior vice president for the Summit Financial Group. Patterson started his new career in 2004 after 40 years in dentistry. He completed the MBA program at Loyola College and a certificate in investments at Johns Hopkins University in anticipation of his current endeavor in financial services. Patterson received his dental degree from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland Dental School. He later earned a certification in endodontics from the School. Currently, he is vice chair and past chair, Board of Visitors, for the Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry. Patterson also has served as president of the Alumni Association of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland Dental School; the Maryland State Dental Association; the Baltimore County Dental Association; and the Maryland Society of Endodontists.
Henry H. Hopkins is vice president and chief legal counsel for T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. A recognized expert on federal and state securities law, Hopkins is a frequent speaker at legal seminars and conferences across the United States. He is chairman of the Board of Governors of the Investment Adviser Association and a director of the Maryland Securities Association. Hopkins earned a BA in history from Trinity College and an LLB in law from the University of Maryland School of Law. He has served on the law school’s Board of Visitors since 1998.
Joanne E. Pollak is vice president and general counsel for The Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation and for Johns Hopkins Medicine, a collaboration between the health system and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Hopkins, she was head of the Health Care Group at Piper & Marbury. Pollak has been a director of the American Heart Association’s Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, as well as its chair in 2003, and has been a member of the Legislative Committee on the Medicaid Program, the Governor’s Committee on the Uninsured, and the State Legislative Committee that rewrote health planning law in Maryland. She is a Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude graduate of Dickinson College, and she earned a JD, with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law, where she serves on the Board of Visitors.

John H. Balch is the President and Owner of PharmaCare located in Cumberland and Frostburg, MD. Balch demonstrates a personal commitment to his chosen profession of pharmacy through his steadfast commitment and effective advocacy to building and sustaining safe, quality pharmacy health care for all citizens of Maryland. He has served on the Maryland Board of Pharmacy as President 2005-2006 and Commissioner 1998-2005. Balch was the recipient of the 2007 Maryland Pharmacists Association Bowl of Hygeia Award, the highest honor given in recognition of outstanding community service.
John M. Gregory is managing partner and chief executive officer for SJ Strategic Investments, LLC. Gregory received his BSP from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1976 and an honorary doctor of public service degree from the School in 2002. Gregory is a member of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Board of Visitors. In 2002, he received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the health sciences category. Gregory is the former chairman of King Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and co-founder of General Injectables and Vaccines.
Edward Brody is chief executive officer of Brody Transportation Co., Inc. He received a BS in economics from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business and attended Boston University School of Law. Edward is a member of the board of the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc., and is former chair of the University of Maryland School of Social Work Board of Visitors. He is the immediate past chair of the Board of Trustees for the Enoch Pratt Free Library and vice chair of the board for MedStar Health.
Barbara Brody is a licensed clinical social worker, and an adjunct field liaison and clinical instructor for the University of Maryland School of Social Work. She received her BA in English from the University of Pennsylvania and her MSW from Howard University. Barbara is a former social worker for the Baltimore City Public School System and a former board member for the Baltimore Mental Health Systems, Inc., and Turnaround, Inc.
