Creating the next generation of leaders through access to a world-class education
Exceptional students are the lifeblood of any exceptional university. They inspire faculty and challenge their peers. They create an atmosphere of lively and intelligent interaction in our classrooms, libraries, and laboratories. Yet, not every outstanding student has the means to join the UMB community. Through your support, UMB will be able to attract the best minds, regardless of their financial resources. To that end, we have instituted various scholarships and fellowships to provide grant aid to support graduate education and training.
Named Scholarship Funds provide financial aid for students pursuing advanced degrees in health, social work, and law or to distinguished doctoral degree scholars who will become the faculty members and researchers of the future.
Fellowships are needed to attract and retain top graduate students and postdoctoral scholars whose UMB training will prepare them to become the next generation of groundbreaking scientists, educators, innovators, and leaders.
Graduate research opportunities and field-based learning help students gain interdisciplinary experience and international exposure, prepare for graduate and postdoctoral work, and lay the foundation for successful careers.
